Since 1930, the Nicollet&Son company ‘ s aim is to meet food processing Industry’s expectations, manufacturing cloth matching their specific needs and production process.

The Nicollet&Son’s weaving company is based in the South-East of France at the heart of a territory with a long history in the textile industry for food as well as artisanal production.
Over time, our range of fabrics for food has gradually evolved and we have developed fabrics for other applications. From raw material (thread on the bobbin) up to tailor-made cloth, all are manufactured on our premises.

Our fully integrated manufacturing allows flexibility and Hight reactivity that are the main asset of our company.

We have the production capacity to produce different fabrics ((Natural fiber as linen, cotton, ramie, jute and synthetic fibers as polyamide, polyester, polypro, nylon…) with multiple cthread counts.
At the end of the quality control of the materials received, the warping operation consists in producing a warp from the spools of thread. For this, we have two sectional warping machines, one specialized in the warping of natural fibres, the other for synthetic fibres. None of our warp being glued, no treatment is applied on the thread.

We are the only weavers of technical fabrics for food contact to master our twisting process internaly

In our twisting workshop, we fully control the gathering of threads to obtain a very precise a metric number. It also allows us to control the number of laps and we can obtain non-standard yarns which could not happen working with spinning mills that increasingly standardize their production. We can obtain exclusive and incomparable resistances and blends.

The weaving is the result of the steps taken previously, the crossing of the warp and weft threads makes it possible to obtain a textile according to the defined weave.
STN has a complete range of weaving technologies for weaving a broad spectrum of yarns (filaments, polyester fibers, monofilaments, textured yarns, twisted yarns or single yarns) to production means, rapier weaving looms, shuttle loom. This makes it possible to produce tubular fabrics or fabrics with very high mechanical strength.

The fabric made by of the looms is controlled on our inspectors to control the overall appearance of the fabric.
Released from final inspection, the fabric is stored pending completion of the finished product.
We also have a cutting workshop where we can proceed with automatic hot cutting by quilting and cutting with electric scissors as well as cutting with hydraulic press with custom tooling.

After cutting, the sewing making workshop assembles the pieces by different means: oversew , hem, zigzag, single or double needle stitching with threads adapted to washing methods, tensile strengths, and resistance to chemicals.

The article manufactures in our workshop are subject to quality control.
To obtain food standards, our fabrics are sent to independent laboratories.

Thread is certified by the OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 label which guarantees that it is free from any substance harmful to health. This certificate is considered the world’s leading eco-label for textiles
